Brooklyn Trail Builders

The Brooklyn Trail Builders (BTB) efforts are headed up by Craig Starnes, Kev O'Donnell, Garth Baker, Andrew Jackson, Rob Lee and Ant Bradshaw.

They’re the team behind all the work in this area including Transient, Car Parts, Barking Emu, Highbury Fling, Car Parts Extension, Windmill, Ikigai and Serendipity and Rollercoaster.

The Clinical trail and Ikigai in Polhill allows for a 7 km loop on Grade 3 track. Car parts and Ikigai, an MTB priority descending trails allows for a complete descent from the Brooklyn wind turbine to Aro St and planning is underway for new trails down to and up from the south coast. Along with trail building and maintenance they also plant native trees; trap pests and remove rubbish/invasive weeds in the area.

BTB supports and admires the work carried out by the Polhill Protectors, and the Aro Street based Garage Project brewery. BTB’s work would not be possible without the support and assistance from Wellington City Council, Ground Effect, Wellington Marathon Clinic, Forest and Bird Wellington’s plant nursery, Brooklyn Primary School, Transpower, Placemakers, and, of course, all the fantastic volunteers (including numerous corporate groups) who spare their time and energy helping build and maintain the trails; plant trees and trap pests. A true community effort!
