Course announced for Manafunduro

It’s time to kick off the Wellington Mountain Bike Enduro Season!  We're happy to announce the course for the Manafunduro (supported by FSCycles), which will happen Sunday the 8th of December. And this time there are new trails (including a 3km stage from the top of the hill). It's going to be a great day!

Entries are open for Race 1 - the Manafunduro!  Hosted by ManaCycleGroup and proudly supported by the team @FSCycles… Get your entry in and get it in your calendar - Sunday 8th December 2024.

We are proud to release our Stage Runs for the Easy/Intermediate and Advanced/Hard categories.   The stages are numbered for reference only and can be done in ANY order you like (or a few times if you wish!!) within the time constraints.

Easy Stages - 3 hours to complete and the following stages are timed.

  1. Trail 10 & Chimney Sweep

  2. Tumeke (Left at Fork)

  3. Lower Tumeke (Right at Fork)

  4. Blaster

Advanced/hard stages - different from last year's Enduro.  You will have 3.5 hours to complete and the stages are timed.

  1. Upper Crash Palace, and Crash Palace Extension

  2. Upper Crash Palace, via Boundary Road to Lower Crash Palace

  3. Farm, Te Araroa Broken Hill and Te Araroa Spicer (yes that's 3.5kms downhill!)

  4. Kēmu O Rua Haurua (Game of 2 Halves)

Videos of all of these runs have been made by the organising committee (Cheers Team!) and links to maps on trailforks are in the descriptions here on Youtube.

We ask all riders who wish to pre-ride these trails in the week ahead to please respect the park, trails and be courteous to other park users.  A gentle reminder that Te Araroa is a 2 way walking trail and “The Farm” is a working farm.

We can’t wait to see you there on Sunday 8th December for some epic riding in Porirua!  Entries are available at the Welly MTB Club Website now. All entries and marshalls will be in the draw to win some epic spot prizes!

The team from Mana Cycle Group are still looking for a few more marshals to help with some of the stages (we’ll feed you and there’s also something to say thank you from @Abandonedbrewery for our volunteers!!) if you’re keen, please let the team know at manafunduro@gmail.com
